Restorative Workplaces

We embed a culture of restorative in the workplace, creating more effective communication, better meetings and improved ways of managing difficulty or change.

Restorative circle of chairs

Our training embeds a culture of restorative in the workplace, creating more effective communication, better meetings, better cross-silo working and improving ways of managing difficulty or re-structure/change. It is, in the words of many who have participated on the course and in the process, 'a transformative experience'.

Our work helps to align values with behaviours and create congruence, and in so doing it frees up valuable resources, breaks down barriers and improves effectiveness. REF are leading the way in this field.

Training involves anything from small, one-off interventions to working with large organisations over time to embed restorative practice across all departments and HR policy and procedures.

Workshop planning session

Workplace conflict costs employers £28 billion a year, more than a £1k per working individual!

REF are an award-winning team of facilitators and trainers who use positive dialogue and simple, workable tools to deliver a huge shift in corporate culture.

We also support organisations to adopt a restorative approach to managing tricky working relationships by teaching people to manage conflict better. Our approach cuts costs, reduces grievances, and improves productivity. Our simple communication toolkit is building more resilient, trusting and accountable organisations.

Suitable for senior leaders, HR managers, EDI and change makers who want to:

  • Learn a suite of skills that can transform teams and silo-working
  • Increase engagement, performance, and accountability
  • Find alternatives to grievances and disciplinaries
  • Shift from right/wrong & blame/shame culture
  • Align individual's behaviour to embody the organisation's values and practices

Create better frameworks for effective challenge, giving and receiving feedback

Our standard training package, which gives each delegate a restorative toolkit, is delivered in three days over two months. In the intervening weeks, delegates are encouraged to try out the restorative tools.

We also offer a 4 x 3hr session Masterclass Leadership Development Series

After the 3-day course delegates will leave with:

  • A practical toolkit for effectively communicating their own needs
  • The ability to hold more effective team meetings
  • Training to Level 1 restorative facilitation to resolve conflict within teams
  • An understanding of how to better manage challenge and change within teams during periods of change and restructure
  • How to use the restorative questions in all ways of working

REF can also deliver a range of short interventions, e.g. developing a workshop with schools to embed restorative practice with students and their use of social media. Charlotte presented these workshops at the UN Commission on Crime Prevention 2018.
